Student writers all over the web

Congratulations to some brilliant and bold 826 students across the country. Their work is showcased on the National Council for Teachers of English (NCTE) Student Writing Gallery for the entire 2009-2010 school year. Pieces were submitted by kids from points all over the map. Over 150 works were accepted into the high profile gallery, which you can browse here.

In local news, 826 Valencia's workshop students have teamed up with the San Francisco Chronicle to feature young adult book reviews. First up in the series is student author Jane Balkoski reviewing The World is Mine by Lyah B. LaFlore. Click here to find out what it means when an author's style is "mutton, not lamb."
