Join 826 for a week of writers at AWP Conference 2012 in Chicago
We're excited to join hundreds of writers, literary organizations, and publishers at the Annual Association of Writers & Writing Programs (AWP) Conference in Chicago from March 1-3. Stop by our book fair table to say hello, check out the latest 826 books, and learn more about our 826 National 101 Seminar. Also, 826 National CEO Gerald Richards will be taking part in the presentation "An MFA, huh? What Are You Gonna Do with That?" on Saturday, March 3, starting at 3PM.
What's more, 826CHI has some fun offsite events planned during AWP. On March 1, head to 826CHI at 7:30PM for "The Rumpus Reads for 826 Chicago," a night of readings from the likes of Cheryl Strayed - the formerly anonymous author of the "Dear Sugar" advice column - and Rumpus founder Stephen Elliott. There will also be music and comedy, all for a suggested $5 donation. Then, on March 2 at 7PM, McSweeney's will celebrate the launch of its poetry imprint with readings by Matthea Harvey, Rebecca Lindenberg, and Adam Levin with a free event at 826CHI.
Can't make AWP this year? You can keep up with the conference on Twitter using the #AWP12 hashtag.
