826LA board member and 826 National Advisory Board member, Keith Knight, receives Harvey Award

Los Angeles, CA/Sept. 12, 2007- Indie cartoonist Keith Knight has won the 2007 Harvey Award for Best Syndicated Comic Strip for his weekly self-syndicated strip, The K Chronicles.
The Harvey Award honors the best in comics, and is the industry’s oldest and most respected award, voted for by industry professionals. Other nominees for this category included Garry Trudeau (Doonesbury), Patrick McDonnell (Mutts), and Tony Millionaire (Maakies).
Earlier this year, The K Chronicles also won the 2007 Glyph Award for Best Comic Strip by a Black Creator.
The K Chronicles is Knight’s weekly semi-autobiographical comic strip. Fresh, sharp, topical and funny, the strip offers a strange and hilariously twisted view of the world through the eyes of a young, urban African-American male.
