Join the 826 movement by becoming an 826 National Intern
826 National is growing, and we need your help! Are you a creative, hardworking individual, seeking a meaningful internship in the nonprofit world? If you are, and have an interest in fundraising, marketing, editing, event planning, research, program evaluation, and business administration, then this is the place for you.
At 826 National our interns are an important part of our team, helping to support staff with national initiatives that keep our eight chapters running. On any given day you may find yourself doing a number of different projects, from writing text for the newsletter to helping coordinate a nationwide fundraising campaign, doing mail runs and taking out recycling or editing student work and website content. Interns help us prepare and run all of our events, and you might even find yourself designing a product or modeling 826 snuggies and other swag for the online store. Up for the challenge? Great, we’d love to have you. Here are some things you should know before applying:
- In order to apply you must: Have excellent written and oral communication
skills, demonstrate a genuine interest in the inner workings of a national
nonprofit, and possess a true passion for the 826 mission, tedium and good, hard
work.
- Additional skills we look for include: Editing and proofreading experience,
software design skills (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop), and experience writing HTML. Access to your own laptop to use in the office is a plus.
- Internships are unpaid and require a commitment of at least 15 hours per
week for at least 16 weeks.
- As an 826 National intern you will receiving the following perks: Free
admission to 826 Valencia and 826 National events, a 15 percent discount at 826
Valencia’s Pirate Supply Store, a 30 percent discount in the 826 National online
store, the opportunity to impact a growing national nonprofit, and working
relationships to last a lifetime!
