Are you interested in working with a growing educational nonprofit with a national reach? Do you care about making a positive impact in the lives of young people? Are you interested in learning about programming and database management? Do photocopying and database management thrill you to no end? You have a home with us!
826 National interns help us coordinate projects, conduct research, run errands, offer administrative support, assist with national and local event-planning, update our website and lots more. Internships are unpaid and require a commitment of at least 20 hours per week and at least 16 weeks.
In the next year, we will be embarking on a number of projects: program evaluation initiatives, publishing collaborations, hosting informational seminars, fundraising and seeking sponsorships, developing in-depth training materials for volunteers, coordinating our annual national staff conference, and more.
Requirements:
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Deep-seeded interest in the inner workings of a national nonprofit
A true passion for organization, tedium, and good, hard work
Editing/proofreading experience preferred
Additional Qualifications:
Experience with kids in a professional setting a plus
Design software skills and html knowledge always a plus
A laptop to use while you’re in the office a plus
