Oh, My Dear Xbox

Oh, my dear Xbox,
I remember when I first saw you.
Perfection to mankind.
You were water nourishing my survival.
The answer to my longing desire.
The gaming experience of a lifetime.
Choosing you was the doorway to my paradise.
When I was sad you were there.
Your graphics put me into a trance-like state.
You never failed to amuse or impress me.
When I was ten feet under homework,
you were there to pull me out.
You always helped me when I needed you most.
Always gave me what I needed.
Rechargeable battery packs to keep me going day and
night.
Wireless headset mic so we could hear each other’s voices.
Xbox Live membership so we could keep in touch with all
our friends.
Microsoft gamer points to buy whatever we needed.
Unfortunately, times began to change.
I was never able to give you that HDTV of your dreams.
I began to notice:
everything you gave me was already mine.
You cheated me out of my time.
Everything you called a present
was bought with my money.
I loved you so much I just had to forgive you.
Sure, there were others.
But I still gave
our relationship a shot.
I thought that everything would eventually
fall into place,
But of course it never did.
The day that changed it all came along.
The day that took my joy and love
and even your short-lived life.
The red ring of death.
Fried circuits and a failed system.
Oh, my dear Xbox, how I miss you.
Your passing hit me hard,
but you know as well as I do
there is always another console.
