We are currently recruiting for three AmeriCorps Volunteer in Service to America (VISTA) positions. During their 12-month assignments, from August 2017 to August 2018, VISTA members will build the capacity of 826 National to serve our network of seven chapters. All positions at 826 National are based in San Francisco, CA.


Our seven chapters are also recruiting for various service positions through AmeriCorps Volunteer in Service to America (VISTA), Bay Area Youth Agency Consortium (BAYAC), the Commonwealth Corps and more. They also hire for full-time staff positions year-round, so keep an eye out! Positions are available in: Boston, Chicago, Washington DC, Los Angeles, Detroit/Ann Arbor, New York City, and San Francisco.

826 National interns help us coordinate projects, conduct research, offer administrative support, assist with national and local event planning, help keep our website content fresh, and lots more. Internships are unpaid and require a commitment of at least 20 hours per week and at least 16 weeks. Please see our intern page for more information.


Interns are essential for our seven centers across the country to do all the amazing work they do. 826 interns assist on a wide variety of projects, including helping with student programs, updating databases, designing storefront products, producing events, and many, many other tasks. The requirements and commitments vary from chapter to chapter.
